I don’t speak any Russian, is the course OK for me?
Russian for beginners in Prague is a course for those English speakers who would like to get to know this amazing and diverse language. The course is designed for either absolute beginners who have never studied any Russian before or for those who’ve already taken a few first steps and need a guide for this exciting journey.
How does it work?
There are 2 options:
- an individual course
- a group course.
You and your tutor after the first class together schedule the classes according to your timeframe. So it’s totally up to you, whether to have 1, 2 or even 3 classes a week.
Here you can read more on comparing language studying individually with a tutor VS. group classes.
What will I learn?
The course covers the following topics:
- Russian alphabet and reading rules (stress, vowels reduction, “soft sign” Ь and “hard sign” Ъ)
- sentence building rules
- vocabulary on the topics: meeting new people, clothes, house, everyday life, city life, holidays)
- basic grammar (declinations of nouns, pronouns, adjectives, verbs conjugation)
- basic tenses
Why is your course so special?
The course uses one-of-a-kind set of handouts. They are designed specifically for those, who study Russian through English and don’t have a command of any other Slavic language (Czech, Polish, Serbian, Bulgarian etc.)
The major part of the course is focused on communication in Russian. There are many speaking exercises, games and role-plays, that will help you to make your first phrases in Russian surprisingly soon.
